ABOUT AUTHOR

Shah S. Sahota is a Punjabi-American nurse, author, and businesswoman. A  descendant of notable Sikhs, her ancestors are featured in the books and exhibited in museums. Her forefather's established some of the most notable schools in the Punjabs Jalandhar district during the first half of the 20th century and were financiers and landowners. At the young age of eight, she wrote a letter to her president voicing her concerns about children's education, childhood hunger, and human kindness.

Her letter appeared in the local newspaper. This encouragement led her to develop a passion for reading and writing. She went on to pursue a degree in nursing with an extensive background in healthcare management and leadership. In addition to her degree, she picked a specialty in oncology and completed her preceptorship on a BMT unit at one of the top ten cancer centers in the United States. She moved back to her home state where she stepped up to the frontline as a covid-19 nurse which led her to become one of the youngest women administrators for testing centers during the peak of the covid -19 wave. Not limiting her specialty to oncology and leadership, she stepped into interventional radiology as a procedural IV conscious sedation nurse. She ultimately went on to become the CEO and founder of Tasali App, Shah S. Sahota Brand & Sheerly a health and wellness company. Using both her nursing background and passion for writing, she wrote her first book for anti-bullying in school-aged children in 2015.

She published her first women's rights novel Hassana in 2019 while she was enrolled in a program and completing a higher degree. Her fictional works of literature and upcoming novels include Hassana, One Hundred by Shah, Yaari, and My 1920's Jawani. Her writing is a unique blend of modern and traditional viewpoints on conservative cultures and societal matters with an emphasis on the beauty of her heritage while drawing inspiration from mystic poets and theologians.
